Provided below is a brief overview about iPredator Inc., a NYS sole proprietor Internet Safety Company. iPredator Inc. was founded in September 2011 to provide educational and advisory products & services to consumers and organizations involving cyberbullying, cyberstalking, online sexual predation, cybercrime, cyber harassment and internet addiction. Although iPredator Inc. is incorporated, Dr. Nuccitelli is proud to report his online safety company has never made a dime from his online safety themed content. The reason being is for this note pasted here.

Note: In exchange for compensation of his services, Dr. Nuccitelli, is willing to waive all fees with documentation verifying the same amount has been donated to a charitable cause involving online safety, mental health or online victimization.

Dr. Nuccitelli has no intention of charging online users unless he is required to leave his present job temporarily or permanently as owner and practicing psychologist of MN Psychological Services, PLLC. Since 2011, he has worked to maintain all his iPredator themed content and services to be educational, free and public domain.   

Michael Nuccitelli, Psy.D. is a NYS licensed psychologist and internet safety educator. Dr. Nuccitelli established iPredator Inc. offering educational, investigation and advisory services related to cyberstalking, cyberbullying, internet predators, cybercrime & the dark side of cyberspace. In June 2012, Dr. Nuccitelli launched this internet safety website, iPredator. This site offers online users an incredible amount of free educational information related to online safety. Since 1985, Dr. Nuccitelli has worked in behavioral healthcare in a variety of capacities with various clinical populations.

Dr. Nuccitelli became interested in the psychology and profiling of those who use Information and Communications Technology (ICT) to abuse, steal, taunt and victimize others online in 2008. In 2012, Dr. Nuccitelli grew even more determined to develop victimization prevention & intervention strategies for vulnerable online users utilizing education, investigation, legal, law enforcement and information technology experts. At the center of Dr. Nuccitelli’s assessments and services is his theoretical concept, iPredator.

Welcome to the Information Age and Cyberspace!

The Information Age is a societal paradigm and period beginning in the last quarter of the 20th century and presently thriving in the second decade of the 21st century. The Information Age represents the evolution, emergence, consumption of and reliance upon Information and Communications Technology (ICT). In a mere four decades, ICT and its importance to humanity have led many to surmise that the planet and its human inhabitants are amidst an Information Revolution. Mobile device technology, telecommunications, social media & cyberspace are just a few examples of humanities newest communication channels. In all these arenas, they deal with the new frontier of how humankind obtains exchanges and disseminates information.

Information and Communications Technology (ICT) and the Information Age have created a new dimension leading to an entirely new population of humanity engaged in malevolent, harmful and deceptive practices. ICT and cyberspace are not tools used by the classic sociopath, deviant, narcissist or criminal, but a new generation called iPredators. These Information Age assailants will be permanent fixtures to humanity for centuries to follow. To effectively educate, evaluate, investigate or advise any ICT user on Internet safety, whether they are a child, adult, group or business, it is paramount to grasp the basic concepts and terms vital to all ICT users. The two terms important to be familiar with are iPredator & Cyberstealth. For it is in cyberspace & the internet, using ICT, that vast majority of iPredators develop, activate and institute Cyberstealth.

Unlike human predators prior to the Information Age, iPredators rely on the multitude of benefits offered by Information and Communications Technology (ICT.) These assistances include exchange of information over long distances, rapidity of information exchanged and the infinite access to data available. Malevolent in intent, iPredators rely on their capacity to deceive others using Information and Communications Technology (ICT) in an abstract electronic universe.

iPredator Definition

iPredator: a person, group, or nation who, directly or indirectly, engages in exploitation, victimization, coercion, stalking, theft, or disparagement of others using Information and Communications Technology (ICT). iPredators are driven by deviant fantasies, desires for power, control, and retribution, religious fanaticism, political reprisal, psychiatric illness, perceptual distortions, peer acceptance, or personal and financial gain. iPredators can be any age or gender and are not bound by economic status, race, religion, or national heritage. Their sole requirement to get started in this dark dimension is an internet connection.

Central to the concept is the premise that information age criminals, deviants, and the violently disturbed are psychopathological classifications new to humanity. Whether the offender is a cyberbully, cyberstalker, cyber harasser, cybercriminal, online sexual predator, cyber terrorist, internet troll, online child pornography consumer/distributor, or a person engaged in internet defamation or nefarious online deception, they fall within the scope of iPredator. The three criteria used to define an iPredator include:

• A self-awareness of causing harm to others, directly or indirectly, using ICT.
• The usage of ICT to obtain, tamper with, exchange and deliver harmful information.
• A general understanding of cyberstealth used to engage in criminal or deviant activities or to profile, locate, stalk, and engage a target.

Unlike human predators prior to the information age, iPredators rely on the multitude of benefits offered by ICT. The primary differentiators of this very modern kind of predation are also threefold: the unlimited distance over which data can be conveyed, the immediacy with which the data can be conveyed, and the unlimited scope of data that can be conveyed. The importance of these three vectors of capability cannot be overstated. In pre-information age societies, by contrast, a predator’s malicious activity was local, slow-moving, and technologically constrained; the predator was limited to the area he could cover by car, to use an emblematic example, needed careful wooing or “casing” of his victim, and was restricted by the limitations of crude technologies like the telephone.

In the abstract and artificial electronic universe known as cyberspace, none of these restrictive qualifiers obtain. Furthermore, there is a fourth advantage that ICT offers iPredators: anonymity. On the internet it is easy for iPredators to actively design online profiles and diversionary tactics to remain undetected and untraceable.
